The problem

Why this usually fails

Without a system, review requests depend on whoever remembers to ask. Techs finish the job and move on; office staff mean to follow up but get pulled into the next call. The result is inconsistent asks, lost links, and no way to know who actually opened the link.

Spreadsheets and manual links break down at scale. One-off texts and emails get buried. Customers who would have left a review never get a clear, trackable path to your Google page. You lose both the review and the chance to turn a happy customer into a repeat booking.

Process

How it works

1

Configure your Google review URL

In CrewCommand settings, add your business Google review URL once. Every review request link will redirect customers to that page so reviews land where they matter.

2

Send review requests from jobs or automations

Use the unique {review_link} variable in any automation template. When the automation runs (e.g. after job complete or invoice paid), the customer gets a link that lands on your review page and is tracked.

3

Track clicks and follow up

See which customers opened the link in your customer list and reports. Follow up with those who have not yet left a review without re-sending the same link blindly.

Product deep dive

01

Dedicated landing page per request

Each review request uses a /review/[token] URL. The customer sees a simple page that then redirects to your Google review URL. No confusing login or extra steps; one click from your message to leaving a review.

02

Variable in automations

In SMS and email automations, insert {review_link} in your template. The system replaces it with the unique link for that customer and context. You can combine it with {booking_link} so one message drives both reviews and rebookings.

03

Configure once

Your Google review URL is set in business settings. Change it anytime if you add locations or update your profile. All future review links use the current URL.

Growth Loop

What it is

Review request flow is a built-in way to ask customers for Google reviews using a unique, trackable link. Each request uses a dedicated landing page that redirects to your business Google review URL. You configure the URL once in settings and use the {review_link} variable in SMS or email automations so the right link is sent at the right time.

Why it matters for your organization

Reviews drive visibility and trust. When you don't ask consistently, you leave reviews on the table. Manual follow-ups and one-off links get lost or forgotten. A system that sends a trackable review link automatically after job complete or invoice paid turns every satisfied customer into a potential reviewer. Your organization gains more Google reviews, better local search presence, and social proof without your team chasing people by hand.

How it works in the loop

Review requests are step one of the Growth Loop. After a job is complete or an invoice is paid, an automation can send a message that includes {review_link}. The customer clicks through to your review page; you see who clicked. That same message can include {booking_link} so happy customers can rebook. More reviews and more rebookings happen from one loop, not from separate tools or manual steps.

Frequently asked questions

  • How do reviews and booking work?
Review requests use a unique link per customer that lands on a simple page, then redirects to your Google review URL. You can track clicks. Public booking uses a /book/yourcompany-style page where anyone can submit a request (no login). Both {review_link} and {booking_link} are available in your automation templates so you can drop them into SMS and email.
  • Can I track when customers click the review link?
Yes. When you send a review request, the unique link lands on a CrewCommand page that then redirects to your Google review URL. We record the click so you can see which customers opened the link. Use this in your customer list or reports to follow up with those who have not yet left a review.
  • How do I add the review link to my automations?
In the automation template editor, use the variable picker or type {review_link} in your message. When the automation runs, it is replaced with the unique review link for that customer and job. Same for {booking_link} to include your public booking page.
  • Where do I set my Google review URL?
In Settings, you configure your business Google review URL once. Every review request link then redirects to that URL so customers leave reviews on your actual Google Business Profile. You can change it anytime.
  • When should I send review requests?
Most teams send a review request right after job completion or after invoice payment. CrewCommand lets you trigger automations on those events so the request goes out at the right time without manual follow-up. You control the template and timing.
